Why ROP

The biggest difference between Robert of Philadelphia and other salons isn't the luxury aesthetic — it's the education. Our stylists move through a real, published level system, taught at-the-chair by senior stylists, and supported by sponsored advanced classes from Wella, Olaplex, and select industry educators.

We're family-owned, three locations strong, and we hire deliberately. New licensees start at Silver / Classic with a clear runway forward. Experienced stylists are placed at the level matching their craft, not the one matching their resume's age.

Our Culture

What we offer.

Education first

We teach. We don't watch you sink-or-swim.

In-house education weekly to monthly. Senior stylists teach at-the-chair during model call sessions. Sponsored advanced classes with Wella, Olaplex, and select industry educators. Career growth is the byproduct of the education, not an afterthought.

Tenure that's earned

Silver to Master Director — a real progression.

Our seven-tier stylist level system rewards real depth of craft. Movement between tiers is earned through education hours, technical demonstration, and a growing book — not just years on the calendar. Guests can see your level on the menu, which means your career arc is publicly recognized.

Cooperative culture

We're a team, not a roster of solo operators.

We work as a cooperative — your guests benefit from the whole salon. If a guest needs a smoothing specialist or an extension specialist, we route them inside the team rather than send them away. The salon's reputation lifts every stylist's book.

A family business

Family-owned since 1980.

Robert of Philadelphia has been a family business for over four decades. The leadership team is at the salon. Decisions are made by people who know your name. We're not a private-equity rollup or a regional chain.

Open Roles

Who we hire.

We hire across all three Naples and Bonita Springs salons. If you don't see your exact role below but think there's a fit, send us a note — we hire deliberately, and the right person occasionally creates a role we didn't have.

Stylists & Colorists

Licensed cosmetologists at any level — from new licensees joining as Silver / Classic to experienced Master Directors. Specialist concentrations welcome (color, blonding, balayage, smoothing, extensions, men's grooming, bridal).

Salon Associates

Our Associate Program is built for pre-license students and recent graduates ready to learn at the chair. The Associate track is a structured education runway into the Silver level — typically 6–18 months depending on prior training — and a paid, supported route into the floor.

Concierge & Front-of-House

Hospitality-minded team members for guest services, booking coordination, and the membership concierge program. Strong fit for anyone with hotel, restaurant, or private-client hospitality background.

Educators & Senior Leadership

Master and Master Director stylists interested in teaching paths, curriculum design, or salon leadership. Often grown from within, but open to qualified outside candidates with documented teaching experience.

Education

Senior stylists teach. Junior stylists learn — at the chair, not the back of the room.

Our model call program is the bridge from associate to senior. Senior stylists run each session and teach in real time on real hair. It's how every Master Director on our floor originally trained.

We sponsor advanced classes with Wella, Olaplex, and select industry educators. At Senior level and above, we cover select industry conferences. The investment in your craft is matched by the salon's investment in your career.

Advancement

Silver to Master Director — a published path.

Seven tiers, each earned through documented education hours, technical demonstration, and book-of-business growth. Movement between tiers is real — and published on our service menu so guests know which level of stylist they're booking.

We do not skip levels for resume optics. New licensees enter at Silver / Classic. Experienced stylists are placed at the tier matching their actual craft. The transparency works in your favor: when you make Master, every guest sees it.

FAQ

Good to know.

Does Robert of Philadelphia hire stylists in Naples?

Yes. We're hiring licensed cosmetologists, colorists, and salon associates across all three Southwest Florida locations — Bayfront, Village on Venetian Bay, and Promenade at Bonita Bay. We hire year-round, with most openings filled by seasonal anticipation rather than reactive backfill.

What does the stylist level system look like?

We use a tenure- and skill-based progression: Silver → Classic → Senior → Master → Master 2 → Director → Master Director. Movement between levels is earned through education hours, technical demonstration, and book-of-business growth — not just clock time. The system is published and explained to every guest at consultation.

What kind of education and training do you offer?

In-house education sessions weekly to monthly depending on the curriculum. Senior stylists teach at-the-chair during model call appointments. We sponsor advanced classes with Wella, Olaplex, and other manufacturers, and pay for select industry conferences for stylists at Senior level and above.

Are you commission-based?

We operate as a cooperative team rather than pure commission. Stylists keep their own clientele but the salon culture is collaborative — we route specialist services to the right specialist regardless of who the booking originated with. The compensation structure is explained in detail at the in-person interview.

Do you hire new licensees or only experienced stylists?

Both. New licensees enter at the Silver / Classic level and progress through structured education. Experienced stylists are placed at the level matching their book and technical depth. We are deliberate about not skipping levels — guests deserve to know which tier of stylist they're booking.
