Robert of Philadelphia · Summer 2026
Happy 250th, America.
Where were you in 1976?
A lot of us remember the Bicentennial — the tall ships, the fireworks, the whole country wearing red, white, and blue like it was a uniform. If you were here for it, you remember exactly where you stood.
That summer is a big part of our story, too. In 1977, Robert DiLella Sr. pointed a 29-foot motorhome south — chasing sunshine and good fishing — and never went back. We’ve been cutting hair in Naples ever since. So as the country turns 250, we’re feeling grateful: for this town, for our team, and for you. Here’s a little of what’s on our hearts this summer.

For the Kids · July 1 – Aug 31
It was never really about the hair.
Our Princesses & Pirates Pamper Day is back, and we want to be honest about why we do it. Kids today grow up under a constant hum of comparison — social media, “mean girl” pressure, the quiet message that they’re somehow not enough. This day is our small way of pushing back against all of it.
The goal is simple: every child walks out feeling like the most important person in the room. Confident enough to hold their head a little higher — and yes, confident enough to style their own hair at home. We added the Pirate Experience this year because boys deserve that feeling too. Every young gentleman gets a day that’s entirely his.
Ages 4–15 · Princess from $40 (all three salons) · Pirate $25 (Bayfront only) · Spots are limited.

Teachers, This One’s For You
You give your whole heart all year. Let us give a little back.
Teachers pour themselves into other people’s kids for ten months straight, often quietly, often without thanks. For more than forty years we’ve believed a little love goes a long way — so this summer we’re sending it straight to the people who give so much of theirs.
Come in for a complimentary haircut and blowout (or just a gorgeous blowout), wrapped in a full pampering ritual: a conditioning treatment with steam, a keratin hand mask and massage, and our signature head, neck & shoulder massage. No catch, no cost. Just thank you.
One gifted visit per teacher · July 1 – August 31 · All three salons.

From the Journal
So… are you really from Philadelphia?
You ask us this constantly — usually mid-blow-dry, around the second pass of the round brush. The short answer: yes, really. No, there’s no salon on Rittenhouse Square, no secret outpost doing balayage within sight of a cheesesteak. The name actually came from a front desk trying to tell two stylists named Robert apart on the phone: “the one from Ohio, or the one from Philadelphia?” The answer was always the same. And it stuck.
There’s a motorhome, a dog named Mousse, a cat named Abigail, a blank-check handshake from a Naples landlord, and a man who really just wanted to fish. It’s the whole true-ish story of how we got here — and given the week we’re in, it felt like the right one to share.
To every one of you — here with us for the summer or up north until the season turns, with us for decades or brand new to the chair — thank you. Every single person who comes to us is part of this, and that’s what makes a place like ours possible. We’re grateful for all of you. Happy Fourth, and a happy 250th to all of us.
With love,
Your ROP Family
