What should I do about moving appointments and calling people?

I’m sure people are reaching out to you about their future appointments. We’ll be able to work on that later this week along with a plan.

When will we re-open

4/4 UPDATE
The government has issued Stay at Home order through April 30th. Salons will remain closed until the Stay at Home order is lifted. We are continually staying up to date with the newest news and guidance for businesses and will continue to update you accordingly.

What do I tell clients

Salons will remain closed until the Stay at Home order is lifted.
Given how fluid the current situation is, and how quickly things are changing, we are not currently rescheduling any appointments at this time.
Our phone lines are not open for calls as we are not rescheduling or scheduling appointments at this time. They can book online for May and beyond.
They stay up-to-date on all current information regarding our salons via email, our website www.ropsalons.com , our social media pages, and/or our salons voicemail. We will be sure to continue updating these points of contact throughout this process.

How can I help?

Positive hopeful conversations are contagious and most needed right now. Start more of them. Negative ones- Don’t engage in them. Be a part of the solution. Be available for client questions about their hair color and how to. Make “how to” videos. Any kind at all. Can be about hair or about how to entertain your kids. Should I file for Unemployment?

4/4 UPDATE:
The funding from the banks did not happen on Friday. The banks were overloaded and without all the guidance from the SBA our bank wasn’t able to process our application .
It is not that it won’t be happening, now we wait until Monday.
There is still time and no need to file for unemployment.

Friday 4/3 is the day that the federal government along with bank administrators can give us  the answers and confirm we’ll get the PPP loan which means we’ll have money specifically loaned to ROP to pay everyone through this. if that is not confirmed or for some reason does not look like it will happen I will tell you right away then you can file if necessary. The federal money is not ready for unemployment either so anyone who files right now will get about 250 a week instead of the higher number the news is talking about. The PPP money program looks like it pays everyone fully. Out next pay day is Wednesday and it’s been my goal/plan to make this all happen before then. I won’t leave you hanging!

Can I do a clients hair in the salon since it will be just one on one?

No. Because of the stay at home order we are not covered by our liability insurances. THE SALONS ARE CLOSED

What if I am doing color at a clients home?

Not recommend. We also do not have enough inventory on hand right now to sell individual tubes of color. Have them order the color through the website.

Will I be paid the $1200 I’ve heard about?


YES! ALL ROP employees are eligible- taxpayers who filed tax returns for either 2019 or 2018 will automatically receive an economic impact payment of up to $1,200 for individuals or $2,400 for married couples. Parents also receive $500 for each qualifying child.
How will the IRS know where to send my payment?
The vast majority of people do not need to take any action. The IRS will calculate and automatically send the economic impact payment to those eligible.
The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?
In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.

Will I be paid for the color kits our clients purchase?

YES! $40. for each full price sale. The conditions are: 1. you are available for them for any questions they have and support them in the process. 2. You verify and provide the updated formula

How will I know if the right formula’s are being mixed for a client?

In addition to ensure accuracy of each color kit a webcam is setup to record each clients formulation and kit packing.

What if clients have a difficult time placing the color order

This is a brand new business area- we are learning, It is an evolving process. Everyone doing the best we can until we work out the bugs.
If they are unable to place their order, send a text or email to Becca to have her call the client and she can take their credit card info over phone and place it online

Is this legal to sell color this way

Yes it is. State cosmetology has no restrictions on this.

I am not comfortable with my clients doing hair color at home

No problem at all, you do not have to participate. Just let Rebecca know and you will not be contacted

What does the client waiver say?

WAIVER AND INDEMNIFICATION
I will indemnify and hold harmless Robert of Philadelphia Salons and Stylists free from all loss, damage, claims of action of any kind that they incur or that are claimed or brought against them by any party as a consequence of my use/ or misuse of the At Home Color Kit. *
